Biography

Rufus Robertson, 85, went to be with the Lord on February 1, 2010. Rufus was born in Dawson, Georgia on March 14, 1924. Rufus faithfully served his country as a US Army WWII Veteran. Rufus will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

He was preceded in death by mother Linda Lee, and father Gene Robinson.

He is survived by loving wife, Margaret Robertson; twin sister, Ruby Perry; children, Rufus Robertson, Jr., Bonnie Bivens, Donna Hicks, Connie Penn, Michael Robertson, Marvin Robertson, Lisa Phillips, Karen Brooks, Ebony Pannell, Anthony Pannell, Thomas Pannell; 23 Grandchildren; 31 Great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broke, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Rufus will be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
