About us
GARY MEMORIAL CHAPEL opened in Columbus, Ohio in 1991. The first location was located on E. Main Street in the historic neighborhood of Bexley, Ohio. The business was able to grow when the previous location was purchased for development. Due to the purchase Gary Memorial Chapel had to be relocated.
David and Gerri Parks Gary purchased a new location on 867 South James Road, which was previously operated by a local insurance agency as a training center. GARY MEMORIAL CHAPEL offers its families a comfortable 8600 square feet.
After extensive renovation and decorating, the spacious new facility was opened for operation in 2005. Gary Memorial Chapel's new location features a 240 seat main chapel, a smaller more intimate chapel, a repast room (reception center) and large parking accommodations. All of the renovations were done to benefit the families. The contemporary decor is very inviting and families often comment that they feel at ease and at peace in our facility.
David Gary is a licensed director and embalmer and Gerri Parks Gary is a licensed insurance agent (non licensed co-owner). The business goal is to serve families with a dignified Celebration of Life Service based on each family's individual desires and final wishes.

Funeral Reception Center
GARY MEMORIAL CHAPEL is very versatile. Our facility allows us to accommodate families who wish to have a repast/reception at our facility. This area serves families to be able to fellowship with one another and to begin to heal from the passing of their loved one. Our facility also has a patio which families have used as a gathering place as well. The serenity of being outside and the peace that our facility gives our families is why we exist.

David and Gerri Gary and the staff of GARY MEMORIAL CHAPEL strive to provide each and every family with exemplary service.
One of the changes that has impacted funeral service the most is the massive movement of large national and international acquisition funeral companies buying up the locally owned and independently operated funeral homes. One result is that families are left with little - and in some communities no - choices.
GARY MEMORIAL CHAPEL proudly still remains as locally owned and an independently operated funeral home in Columbus, Ohio since 1991. We look forward to a continued partnership with our surrounding community.
